In short: DeskRift runs on your computer. The app has no accounts, ads, telemetry or analytics; we do not collect your videos, settings or history.

1. The app: where your data lives

• Settings, the wallpaper library, saved wallpapers, the video cache and logs stay on your computer only. We never receive them. You may open a log and send it to us yourself if you choose.
• Pro trial. To offer the 14-day Pro trial once per device, the app stores an anonymous trial-start marker locally — in the Windows registry and a local file. It never leaves your computer and is intentionally kept after uninstall so a reinstall does not start a new trial; it contains no videos, settings or personal data.
• Clipboard. Only when you press “Paste key from clipboard” on the Pro card does the app read the clipboard, to find and activate a license key there; the text is not stored or sent anywhere.
• Browser cookies. If you turn on cookie use in the settings (for videos that require a login), the download component reads them from the browser or file you chose and uses them only in requests to the service they belong to. We never receive them.

2. When the app goes online

• Videos by link and search — YouTube or RuTube (and their video servers) see your IP address and request, as in a browser. Search through the YouTube API works only with your own key.
• Wallpaper catalogues — motionbgs.com, mylivewallpapers.com and wallpaperwaifu.com see your IP address and request while you browse them.
• Update check — once a day the app asks deskrift.app whether a new version exists. Nothing about you is sent; a new version installs only when you click.
• Download component update (yt-dlp) — once a day it checks for and downloads its new version from the yt-dlp project. Nothing about you is sent.

There is no other outbound traffic.

3. This website

• The site is static and uses no cookies, analytics or trackers; fonts are served from our own server.
• The server keeps an ordinary technical request log (IP address, time, page) for security and diagnostics, not for analytics or profiling.

4. Buying Pro

• You enter an email on the purchase page; it goes to our relay, which builds a payment link for Prodamus, the payment provider that handles the card. Card details are processed by the provider — we neither see nor store them.
• The email and the fact of payment (order number, amount) are used only to send the license key, to issue the receipt Russian tax law requires, to handle a refund where the law provides for one, and to answer questions about your purchase. The purchase notice reaches the seller via Telegram; the key email is sent from the seller's mailbox.
• Legal basis: performance of the contract (the offer) you are a party to. Data is kept no longer than these purposes and the statutory retention periods for fiscal documents require.
